The Barista Method.
Learn coffee the way a studio learns to build: one variable at a time.
The Barista Method (TBM) is a hands-on barista course run by The Zariya Academy in Nazirabad, Kolkata. It has two weeks of classes (six classes, five modules), then ten one-on-one practice sessions with a mentor. A batch has ten students at most. The fee is ₹20,000. It includes the sessions, the test and the Zariya Elite Barista Certificate.
A method, built floor by floor.
Five modules take you from the farm to the counter. Each one builds on the one below. The course follows specialty-coffee practice used worldwide: cupping protocols, brew ratios, water chemistry and extraction.
Coffee Unlocked
From its legendary discovery to botany, varietals and processing. Learn the stories and methods behind the coffee you serve.
Barista's Palate
Decode flavour and refine your palate with the methods of sensory science.
Brewing Mastery
Control every variable in the cup. Every brew method has its own chemistry.
The Espresso Code
The make-or-break module. Learn the machine, the shot, the milk and the art.
The Barista's Edge
The soft skills that turn a barista into a leader.
Classes first. Then one-on-one practice.
The course has two parts on purpose. Group classes build understanding. One-on-one hours build skill.
Two weeks of classes
Six classes mix theory and practice and cover all five modules. 10 students at most.
Ten one-on-one hours
You pick the slot. A mentor stands beside you. Practise what you need. Included in the fee.
The test
A test closes the course. The test fee is included.
ZEBC
The Zariya Elite Barista Certificate, issued by The Zariya Academy.
In a group class
Ten students share one machine and one mentor. This is the best way to learn ideas: why coffee tastes as it does, and how extraction works. You also learn from nine other people's questions.
In a one-on-one hour
The machine and the mentor are yours for the full hour. Dosing, tamping and milk texture need many repeats and fast feedback. Every shot you pull gets feedback at once.
Classes teach the why. One-on-one hours train your hands.
